Amazing toys, the kids love them
My kids LOVE these. I have a 3 yr old and a 10 yr old, and they both play with them. These are plastic, and lightweight - which is actually a good thing, because the kids can hold them easily. They are shiny, to resemble metal, but they are plastic. The Sax is too complicated for the 3 yr old, but is the perfect size for the 10 yr old to play band with the 3 yr old. They do require the kids to blow air through them, like a "real" instrument, and pressing the keys does make different tones. My ears aren't thrilled about all the noise, but the kids are learning to make actual "music" with their not actual instruments. Hopefully, it will instill a love of music and playing music and they can quickly graduate up to something that makes something that sounds more like music.
Great for learning colors too.
My four-year-old grandson love the trumpet and it's nice that it's color-coded and he knows his colors and he reads the little music sheet and presses the color that he sees on the paper and Presses it on the trumpet. It's not the most durable but I think it is worth the money. As your toddler gets older you can purchase one more durable. I want my grandson to experience different things so the durability was not that important to me........you know how kids are, they will play with a toy one time and never touch it again.
fun but not very durable
While this product lasted, my kids had a blast with them. They were easy to handle and a lot of fun. The volume was manageable and even played by two very inexperienced musicians, the sound was minimally annoying.
On the down size, both items had broken within a couple of weeks and when we received them, they were loose in the box.
I've honestly considered re-buying the product as my kids greatly enjoyed them and they were fairly affordable. If you have a more gentle child with a beginner interest in music, this would likely be a great product for them.
